Canadian Justice Minister Peter MacKay came under fire for comments he made to the Ontario Bar Association when asked why so few women are appointed as Federal Court Judges. He replied that women don’t apply because they fear the job will take them away from their children and that “women have a greater bond with their children”.

After several heated and raucous meetings the Vancouver School Board has approved gender neutral washrooms and gender neutral pronouns: Xe, Xem and Xyr to replace he/she/ him/her, his/hers.
